Work, over time

Vignesh Sundhar

I’m a consumer product and growth practitioner focused on search, discovery, conversion and retention—especially where people make consequential decisions and intent can disappear quietly.

I practise AI-native product management across the full lifecycle, using AI to deepen discovery, synthesise evidence, improve decisions, test and iterate, coordinate execution and accelerate delivery. My path spans entrepreneurship, customer adoption, research and teaching; the settings changed, but the focus stayed remarkably consistent.

Primary work · Most recent first
  1. Practising AI-native product management

I work as an independent product builder and AI consultant, using AI throughout product management: framing problems, conducting and synthesising discovery, shaping strategy and decisions, creating prototypes when useful, coordinating execution and supporting delivery. The goal is to remain accountable for judgment while shortening the path from evidence to outcomes.

What I am developing: AI-native product management, agent-enabled discovery, evidence synthesis, delivery workflows.

  2. Helping consumers navigate high-stakes decisions

Owned consumer search and discovery journeys in a complex decision-making category. Worked across product-market-fit validation, user research, search intent, content, conversion, retention, experimentation and cross-functional delivery. Built a new consumer product from zero to 60,000 monthly users in six months and contributed to meaningful revenue, acquisition, conversion and retention improvements.

What this developed: B2C product management, search and discovery, consumer decision journeys, growth systems, continuous discovery.

  3. Building products—and the business around them

Built and operated a digital product studio spanning learning, commerce, public services, CRM, content and search. Worked across user interviews, product design, roadmaps, delivery, go-to-market, customer acquisition and P&L. Selected outcomes included converting an offline learning business into a subscription product, growing an e-commerce product from zero to 1,200 monthly users, and improving the reach of a public-service initiative by 30%.

What this developed: founder-grade ownership, product discovery, growth, team leadership, end-to-end execution.

  4. Turning complex software into customer outcomes

Worked closely with enterprise customers from early conversations through onboarding, adoption and retention. Connected customer needs with product, design, delivery, support and commercial teams.

What this developed: customer discovery, consultative problem-solving, stakeholder alignment, adoption, retention.

  5. Researching markets, understanding motivations and persuading people

Mapped complex talent markets, worked with senior stakeholders and helped people make consequential career decisions. Built internal tools for candidate tracking and registration when the existing workflow became a constraint.

What this developed: research, communication, persuasion, workflow design, commercial judgment.

  6. Making complex ideas understandable

Taught physical geography, climate change and macroeconomics. This was where I learned to structure unfamiliar ideas, read a room, and explain the same concept in different ways until it connected.

Parallel work
  1. Helping public schemes reach people with disabilities

Supported a Government of Tamil Nadu initiative on a pro bono basis, helping people discover and understand public schemes and services. Worked on web analytics, UX improvements and targeted communication to make important information easier to find and act on.

What this developed: public-interest product work, accessible communication, digital outreach, government stakeholder collaboration.

  2. Leading without formal authority

Led a city-wide community of more than 100 volunteers across recruitment, training, fundraising and programme delivery.

What this developed: motivation, communication, culture-building, leadership through influence.

  3. Building for the web

Designed and delivered websites for schools, training institutions, writers and independent professionals. Learned to take a loosely described need and turn it into something people could actually use.

The through-line

Today, I bring these experiences together in consumer product and growth work—especially where discovery, motivation, conversion, retention and real-world behaviour matter.

That work rests on an earlier progression: building products around people's needs, helping them adopt unfamiliar tools, persuading them, finding and understanding them, and—at the foundation—making complex ideas easier to understand.
